Country singer Ingrid Andress has apologized for her widely panned performance of the US National anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby on July 15, 2024, admitting that she was intoxicated at the time.
In a statement posted to her social media accounts, Andress said she was "deeply sorry" for her "unprofessional and unacceptable" behavior.
"I take full responsibility for my actions and I understand that I have let down my fans, my country, and myself," she wrote.
Andress' performance was met with widespread criticism online, with many viewers calling it "disrespectful" and "unpatriotic."
Andress' apology comes after she was dropped from performing the national anthem at the upcoming MLB All-Star Game.
